How the lethal injection works

They use three injections. First it's an anesthetic, sodium thiopental, it is a fast barbiturate that depresses the activity of the central nervous system. This injection unconsciousness the person and the injection is so strong that the pain is undetectable. The injection can reach the brain in 30 seconds for the person to go unconsciousness. After the sodium thiopental the exautor injects pancuronium bromide, this is for blocking the neuromuscular it also prevents the nerve messenger (acetylcholine) from communicating with his/her muscles. At the end the muscles are paralyzed. The last injection they use is the potassium chloride. This is the last dosage of the chemicals, the heart charges particles that interrupt its electrical signaling. It stops it from beating. The average time from the first injection to death is 8.4 minutes.

Lethal Injection (before they use it)

For the persons last 24 hours they get visitation rights. Their friends, families, attorneys, and many other people are allowed to visit them. They visit them in the dead watch or a visitation area. The last few hours of their lives they start the preparations. They do not do this in every state that has the lethal injection. First they give them their last meal of their chose, then they get a warden visit and chaplain visit, then witness arrive for the injection, the witness have to go to the restricted witness room adjacent to the execution chamber, and are instructed to stay quite. They connect the heart monitor to an electrocardiogram machine, it tells when the person's heart had stopped. As soon as the prisoner is dressed he/she waits in the death watch with a spiritual advisor until the warden tells someone to bring the prison to the execution chamber, they get brought a couple of minutes before the scheduled execution. The witnesses are relatives of the victims, relatives of the prisoner prison warden, medical personnel, spiritual prison guards, official group of "reputable citizens", Official group of state-selected witnesses, and Media representatives.

descriptive paragraph

35 years sgo the supreme court had removed state death penalty laws because the punishment was not being decided by the law and without restriction, however states had rewrote the laws and the executions stayed for on;ly a few years, but not still not deciding on the law as they had in the year 1972. Harris county jury has sent more people to the death chamber than any other state (they had sent 100 people).

News article

Today for breaking news a stepfather rapes his 8 year old step- daughter. Today the police was informed of a rapist raping an 8 year old. Patrick O' Kennedy had called the cops to inform them of his step daughter being raped, but he claims two boys from his suburban New Orleans neighborhood had raped her then he says that they fled on bicycles. It was a tragic time for Patrick O' Kennedy. The police had informed us that they suspect that Patrick O' Kennedy had done the crime. The little girl had need surgery for the damaged. At the trail she had been brought to the stands and testified that Patrick O' Kennedy did do the crime and that he had trained her to lie to the police, and we just heard that Kennedy had called the carpet cleaner before he called the cops so that they can clean up the blood stains. His crime was a heinous so he was sentnced to the death penalty, and if he is put to death it will be the first time in nearly 31 years that the death penalty has been used for a nonhomicide offense.

Quote by patrick henry

"When we come to punishments, no latitude ought to be left, nor dependence put, on the virtue of representatives... in this business of legislation, your members of congress will loose the restriction of not imposing the excessive fines, demanding excessive bail, and inflicting cruel and unusual punishment."
-by: Patrick Henry

This quote means that people will have a fair trail before the decsion of the death is decide and that if you get a speeding ticket or you steal something you will not get sentnce to death because it would be unfair and it would be an unusal punshiment for stealing or a speeding ticket. So the 8th admentment protects the public people.
